These two very beautiful 18th century candelabras of about 1m high required a complete restoration operation: dismantling, diagnosis of the cut crystal elements to be taken back, to be replaced, identical restitution of the missing parts (chandelier arms, cups, bobèches) and finally reassembling to give back to these two exceptional pieces their former appearance and brightness.

Villa E-1027 is a seaside house designed by Eileen Gray and Jean Badovici in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin in the Alpes-Maritimes in France. It is a typical example of modern architecture, designed between 1926 and 1929. Cristal Benito participated in its restoration with the creation of large cut glass panels to cover partitions, furniture doors and exterior woodwork. Originally, the glass was printed with diamond points and striated glass manufactured industrially in the 1920s. Since the machines no longer exist, it was necessary to reproduce these glasses identically in an artisanal way. Several hundred hours of work were necessary to meticulously cut these panels!
This Daum crystal paste statuette was broken in two, without loss of material. The restoration operation consisted in making a delicate glueing both resistant and almost invisible, in order to recover the integrity of the work of art.
